What is parental alienation (PA)?
PA occurs when a child aligns with one parent and rejects their other parent for reasons that are not legitimate. This is different from estrangement, when a child’s resistance to have a relationship is for justifiable reasons.

"Parental alienation (PA) is the mental condition of the child. Alienating behaviors (AB) are the activities of the alienating parent, which cause PA in the child. ABs is very common, while PA is relatively rare. Lots of children experiences ABs, but never develop PA. Causing PA in a child is a form of psychological abuse. Alienating behaviors can turn into child psychological abuse."
